The Business of Agricultural Irrigation: Navigating Challenges and Serving Farmers

We took the reins at Stettler Supply a little more than six months ago. Nolan and I have experienced working alongside and serving customers with more than 70 years’ worth of loyalty and trusted relationships.

This transition into Stettler Supply has given us resources to be better equipped in providing an extended array of services, including Reinke pivots and linear irrigation, agricultural irrigation pumps and pump service coupled with a stellar ag retail store. We’ve enjoyed being there for farmers during the drawn out irrigation season, ensuring smooth pump operations and efficient crop irrigation.

The farming landscape has faced numerous challenges this year stemming from inflation, rising input costs, market instability, and adverse weather conditions impacting yields. We recognize the stress this has placed on farmers and our communities. We’re committed to adapting our approach, offering competitive pricing, and maintaining flexibility to meet the unique needs of farmers during these challenging times.

The ability to access groundwater resources is invaluable, and we’re determined to maximize its potential. Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us; it’s a tangible commitment. We continue to partner with farmers to make sustainable practices a reality.

As a small business owner, I’ve found leadership comes with its unique set of challenges and opportunities. Right now we’re focused on navigating these hurdles, preserving strong customer and employee relationships, and infusing new energy into a legacy spanning more than seven decades. We believe that strong relationships, price competitiveness and overall flexibility are the keys to sustained growth through this economic climate.

Our core mission aligns with the previous ownership’s values: building lasting relationships and a commitment to each grower. This involves effective water management and helping farmers transition to precise agricultural irrigation systems, maximizing water efficiency, and saving on labor costs.

We take pride in serving Stettler’s long-standing customers, some of whom have trusted us for generations. Building and nurturing strong relationships with these farmers while growing together is at the heart of our operation.

Right now the opportunity for moving the needle is as high as it has ever been, even after the challenges we’ve experienced this year.
